Broken water

They just broke Bobbie Jo's water. Like the last time it was extremely painful.

The contractions are getting pretty strong, hopefully the epidural will be here soon.

Waiting......

After almost a week of high blood pressure, the decision was made to induce labor today.
We are currently waiting in Triage, and will be moved to Delivery in the next few hours.
We'll keep you posted.

Tidbits about Max

I've been slacking, and haven't posted in quite awhile. In an attempt to get something on here, I thought I'd put together a list of things about Max.
  • Max refers to today as "this day" and tomorrow as "the day after this day". "Mommy, am I going to go to school this day, or the day after this day".
  • Max is excellent at putting together puzzles. He absolutely loves them, and can finish all of his puzzles (25 pieces or so) all by himself.
  • He isn't really attached to any of his stuffed animals but sleeps with someone (a car, stuffed animal, or toy) every nap and at night.
  • For about 15 minutes I convinced him he was born with a tail. He told me that "people don't have tails". I agreed and told him that's why we had it removed. He ultimately determined that daddy was "pulling his leg".
  • He's scared of flowers.
  • He seems to be obsessed with "bad guys", and has arbitrary rules determining which of his toys are "bad guys" (and what jail they belong in).
  • He likes playing Angry Birds on his iPad.
  • He loves people, and will immediately start chatting with anyone who he thinks will pay attention.
  • His best friends at school are Nathan, Carter, and "Max F".

36 vs 1

Two weeks before Max was born, there had been 36 posts made to this blog.
Two weeks before his little sister is due, and we've mentioned her once.

I promise sweetheart, we'll love you just as much. Daddy has just gotten lazy in his old age.

The demise of another camera

After a few days of searching, it has become aparent that our camera has vanished. Christmas morning 2011 is in our memories, but the photographic evidence of it is gone.

Max was very excited for Santa this year, we made him cookies and he rewarded Max with loads of great presents.

For the record, Max received (from Santa and his awesome grandparents):
  • Snowshovel
  • Cars 2 playset
  • Santa Clause Doc Hudson car
  • Reindeer Tow Mater car
  • A robotic Claw
  • Tinker Toys
  • Toy Story Garbage dump playset (He LOVES this thing and likes to 'burn things' in the incenerator.
  • Swimming fish aquarium night light
  • Lots of Dr Suess learning books
  • Duplo blocks
  • And other stuff we can't even remember anymore.
Oh yeah, Grandma Pat also gave him her iPad. We now have a child who says "I want to play with my iPad".

Hope your Christmas was as magical as ours was.

Secrets

On the Sunday before Christmas (8 days ago), Max and I were talking about making ornaments for people and the importance of not telling them (keeping it a secret).
Me: "Max, can you do that? Keep a secret and not tell them we made them ornaments?"
Max: "Yep, I can do that. Like Mommy bought slippers for me to give to you for Christmas. She told me to keep it a secret and not tell you".
Me: "Ok. Yep, just like that"
