3? 2? 1?

On Wednesday, June 15th Bobbie Jo had THREE "extremely viable" embryos implanted. The decision was left up to us, and we both determined that putting all three in would give us the best shot at growing our family.

Almost two weeks later, on Sunday the 26th, Bobbie Jo had a positive pee test.
On Monday the 27th, a positive blood test.
Wednesday the 29th, another positive blood test (the results were "good", but slightly below the levels the fertility specialist likes to see).

We're expecting to hear the results of this morning's blood test in the next few hours. Bobbie Jo is extremely anxious; I'm expecting good news.

If the results come back and look good, our ultrasound is on the 18th of July. That's when we find out how much bigger our family may become.

Stay tuned.......

Grade A, Extra Large

Apparently this is what they look like before they start scattering their toys all over the place. The third must be hiding.
All three were graded as "2+" (that's good).

Building a baby

About a year ago, Bobbie Jo and I started working with a fertility center here in GR. While we had been very lucky when Max was conceived, his potential sibling was not going to happen without some "outside influence".
We went through the maximum number of basic treatments (involving hormones and artificial insemination), without a single positive test.

A few months ago, we made the decision to attempt IVF (In-Vitro). This procedure involves a rigorous hormone treatment meant to coax Bobbie Jo's body into creating as many quality eggs as possible. All of the viable eggs will be harvested, and each will individually be fertilized in the lab.
Once fertilized, the doctor will determine how many of these should be implanted to give us the best chance of getting Max the little brother (or sister) he has repeatedly asked us for.

That gets us caught up to yesterday....

Yesterday Bobbie Jo had 5 viable eggs retrieved. This morning we were informed that 3 of them "took". Tomorrow, Bobbie Jo will have some, or all, of these implanted.

Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We'll keep you updated as best we can.

Potty Update

The journey that began in November of 2009 (The Journey Begins....) seems to officially have been completed.
Max has been using the potty, and living in underpants for a few months now. It looks like we're through the woods.
Way to go kiddo!

Happy 3rd Birthday Big Boy!

Happy Birthday to the kid who doesn't like being called "little guy" anymore.

Every week is a new adventure, and better than the last. Watching you grow and learn has been the most amazing experience that I ever thought possible. Thank you for being such an awesome kid.

We love you!
